STARKVILLE, Miss.—Renowned artist Alex Bostic will be showcasing pieces from his most recent work in an art exhibit at the Union Art Gallery through March 17. The exhibit opens with a reception today [Feb. 24] at 4 p.m., which is free and open to all.

An associate professor in åüÃÄÖ±²¥â€™s College of Architecture, Art and Design, Bostic recently received national recognition for having his original art of sculptor Edmonia Lewis featured on a new U.S. Postal Service stamp as part of the Black Heritage Series. Originally from Brooklyn, New York, he is a graduate of the Pratt Institute with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, and he received his Master of Arts in illustration from Syracuse University in Syracuse, New York.

The exhibit features a collection of Bostic’s work as well as the artwork used to create the new stamp.
